... what is it that Christmas has still such a deep fascination
in our day and age? Not only does it mark one of the highest holidays
in Christian religion, it reaches far back beyond the birth of Christ.
In the darkest time of winter, when Fenrir's Wolf had the Northern
Lands in its icy clutches, when Father Frost held the Russian wilderness
in its freezing grip and the good and bad spirits played tricks
on unsuspecting humans in mid Europe, the light of the hearth became
very important. This and the evergreen of the fir trees, holly and
mistletoe. The light that warmed, that kept away the bad spirits,
was celebrated, and with this celebration life, family and continuation
was instated. Here is our tribute to the warm and cosy time of Christmas.
